Madame Wax Recommends – Sudocrem

After a fantastic response over on Facebook, I’m kicking off the first of a new blog series today, in which I recommend my favourite beauty products. I’m going to be looking at the wax-related products, as well as non-wax related ones too, so I’ll be covering lots of ground. I have so many  things I love and swear by and it’s time to share the love.

As you may have guessed from the title, my first product is Sudocrem. Now, I know what you’re thinking but you’re wrong. This post has nothing to do with babies’ bottoms!

Stuff of miracles
Stuff of miracles

No, I’ve been using and recommending Sudocrem to clients for years and years. It’s wonderful for a multitude of reasons. Here are some of the ways I like to use it –

* On skin post-wax

* Applied thick as a face mask

* Applied thinly as a night cream

* Dabbed as a splodge onto a spot

* Rubbed into patches of dry skin, including elbows, heels and knees.

* As a cuticle softener

* Onto a skin rash.

* Onto sunburn

* Onto minor burns.

Basically, it’s marvellous for a whole host of things (you could even put it on a baby’s bottom!). Last week, a friend of mine burnt her hand on a pan. It was painful but nothing very serious. After running it under cold water and keeping it in bowlful overnight, the next day, she slathered her fingers with Sudocrem and popped a glove on. By that evening, the pain had subsided and the redness had calmed down. And the day after that, only a tiny mark was to be seen. Truly amazing stuff.

And that’s the first of many product recommendations to come!
